First FA signing in Stars history

One day it may be a trivia question so write this down. VB Stars sign P- Armando Delgado to a 4 year deal. Delgado 30, will receive 1.18 million per season for his services. "This is exciting news for fans and the organization", manager DJ Basebol was quoted as saying.

In what is being billed as Phase III of an organizational project to building a expansion team management could not be happier. There are still a few holes yet to fill, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that we'll field a team worthy of the fan base.

Rule 5 draft complete

The Virginia Beach Stars added 5 players to their roster, SP R. Cartwright, MR G. Chubb, MR M. Díaz, SP P. Ortega, and SP A. Olivas in the 2012 rule 5 draft giving us some semblance of a pitching staff. The number of Stars players hopeful of making the ML staff has now increased to 9. With free agency next on the agenda will the trend of signing pitchers continue? There are 18 position players in camp, but it's looking that with each passing day only 10 will start in the bigs while the remaining 8 are delegated to their respective minor league levels.

What's next?  Stay tuned !

Tryouts begin

With Phase 1; the expansion draft complete it's on to Phase 2, the Rule 5 draft. First of we're happy to announce the expansion draft brought in a diversified group some MLers, lot's of youth for the minors, and hope for a successful future.

Phase 2 could add a player or two to the mix; we'll comb over what's out there, and see who or whom best fits what we're trying to accomplish. For now we'll keep things mostly under wraps until the great reveal; our opening day roster!

Logo and uniform scheme reveiled

Today Stars management unannounced the unveiling of the team logo and uniform. Much to the delight of ownership and the fans we'll feel these colors represent success and victory. The scheme brings a warm welcoming winning feel to it that any player would be proud to wear. Most importantly it represents the FCB as a professional approach to the game we all love.

Breaking Ground

Construction began today on the new ballpark for the Virginia Beach Stars. In attendance were the mayor of Va. Beach William Sessoms, the Stars CEO of baseball operations Ty Cobbler, and GM David Schaff. "Today is the beginning of something special", mayor Sessoms said. A small group of fans cheered in anticipation with renewed hope of baseball. One little girls dog (above) also got into the action in what is being billed as the first ground break.
